Tragic Incident in Yerevan: 58-Year-Old Woman Electrocuted in Bathroom and Died on the Spot

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting an investigation in the Shengavit division of the Yerevan Investigative Department regarding a report received from the 6th subgroup of the emergency medical service on October 4.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, at 19:30 on that day, a team of the emergency medical service’s 6th subgroup alerted the Shengavit police that they had responded to a call from a house in the Noragavit neighborhood, where they discovered a woman electrocuted in the bathroom.

The operational team from the Shengavit police, headed by the head of the criminal investigation department, Aperyan, and a team from the Shengavit Investigative Division, led by senior investigator Baveyan, arrived at the scene. A forensic doctor also worked on-site.

Police and investigators established that the deceased was a 58-year-old resident of the same house, identified as L. A., who had committed suicide by inserting wires into a cage and grabbing the live current, resulting in her electrocution.

By the investigator's decision, a number of examinations have been appointed, including a forensic examination of the body.
