Gunfire Resembling a War Movie in Yerevan, 1 Dead, 1 Injured, Over 15 Shell Casings Found at the Scene
Gunfire erupted in Yerevan today, September 28. Around 2:40 AM, the police's operational management center received a report that shots had been fired in front of the "Victory" park on Freedom Avenue.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan at the scene, the Chief of Police of Yerevan, Sevan Kocharyan, his deputy Arthur Zakaryan, and the head of the criminal investigation department, Hovhannes Aristakesyan, have arrived at the scene. The head of the Arabkir police department, Yervand Nikoyan, and the head of the Kanaker-Zeytun department, Robert Navasardyan, have also arrived.
While police were working at the scene, the Arabkir police department received a call from Hospital No. 8 reporting that two civilians with gunshot wounds had been brought in. The young woman has died, while the man is injured.
