Gunshots in Tsaghkadzor: One Arrested
According to Shamshyan.com, on October 5, a dispute occurred leading to gunshots being fired in the Kotayk region. At around 8:00 PM, the operational center of the Kotayk regional police received reports of gunfire from one of the buildings on Kaizak Andreas Street in Tsaghkadzor.
Police and investigators found that the altercation took place over parking a car in the yard of the mentioned building between Vardan Arakelyan, a 47-year-old resident of Kotayk, and Vahe Osipyan, a 29-year-old guest from the city of Hrazdan, who was visiting 31-year-old Suzanna A.
It was determined that during the dispute, V. Arakelyan punched V. Osipyan in the face, uttered sexual insults, and then fired shots from a firearm he possessed while continuously shouting insults.
Police apprehended V. Arakelyan on the spot on suspicion of hooliganism and took him to the Hrazdan police department, where a personal search revealed a registered PMR 9 mm caliber pistol with 7 bullets.
A criminal case has been initiated under the 4th part of Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code at the Kotayk regional investigative department. Investigators and police have also clarified the number of shots fired during the altercation, as the initial report indicated multiple shots, while the police have preliminary data suggesting one shot was fired.
Following the investigator's decision, V. Arakelyan has been arrested.
