Zelensky Makes Statement on Meeting with Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared his readiness for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and believes that a face-to-face format could be effective.
“Regarding the question of a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, I reaffirm once again that we are ready for this meeting, and I think it is the right step. Our meeting in a face-to-face format could be quite substantial. I believe that the Russian side, particularly the President’s entourage, does not want him to meet with me in this format, as this meeting could lead to unexpected outcomes,” the Ukrainian leader stated, as reported by RIA Novosti.
He also added that he is prepared for a meeting in the “Normandy format.” “I am actually ready for any meeting because I believe that any meeting at that level will help Ukraine in resolving the tragedy in Donbas and the issues concerning Crimea,” Zelensky remarked.
