Those Who Dig a Pit for Their Brothers Will Fall into It Themselves: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Events occurring in northwestern Iran and in some neighboring countries must be addressed by preventing foreign interference. This statement was made by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during a video conference speech at a ceremony for graduates of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces universities. IRNA reports.

"The recent events in the northwestern part of the country must be resolved without intervention and the military presence of foreign armies. Those who dig a pit for their brothers will soon fall into that pit themselves," he stated.

The Leader also mentioned that the security of the country is the foundation for progress in all sectors: "Anyone who thinks they can ensure their security by relying on others should know that a slap is coming soon for that reason."

Khamenei asserted that the reputation of Iran’s armed forces lies in their role as a fortress for the country and its people. He noted that the presence of foreign armies in the region, including that of the United States, is destructive and provocative.

"The US military, equipped with various weaponry, invaded Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban. For 20 years, they killed and committed crimes in that country. After 20 years, they handed power back to the Taliban and withdrew their forces. The presence of foreign armed forces, including the Americans, is a factor of dissolution in our region. Everyone must work to ensure that states are sovereign, armies are independent, reliant on their people, and cooperate with the armed forces of neighboring countries. This is in the interest of the region," the Leader reminded.
