Major Car Accident in Yerevan: Toyota Camry Hits Traffic Light, Gas Pipe, Power Pole and Overturns

Today, on October 3, a significant car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 16:30, a resident of Yerevan, Nazeni S., driving a Toyota Camry with license plate 23 TT 001, lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Tbilisi Highway and Sarkavag Street under unclear circumstances. The car veered off the roadway, collided with the traffic light regulating the intersection, knocked it down, then struck an external lighting pole, damaging it, and also hit the gas pipeline coming from a gas distribution station, resulting in further damage, before overturning.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, bystanders were the first to provide assistance to the driver, who was then rescued from the car by Dr. Lalayan, the director of a pharmacy from Kanakeravan village in Kotayk province, passing through the area at that moment. The paramedics from Yerevan’s emergency medical service arrived quickly, providing first aid on the scene before transporting the victim to the Mikaelyan Institute of Surgery.
