Saakashvili Declares Hunger Strike in Georgian Prison
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who was previously arrested in Tbilisi, has declared a hunger strike. This was announced by Georgia's Public Defender Nino Lomjaria following a meeting with the former state leader, as reported by TASS.
“When I entered, he (Saakashvili) was undergoing a medical examination. Later, we had the opportunity to communicate in his cell. Mikheil Saakashvili stated that he is starting a hunger strike,” Lomjaria said.
She emphasized that, according to the political figure, the police did not use force during the special operation, and he did not resist.
