Minimum Pension Amount to Increase from January 1

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia plans to increase the minimum pension amount starting January 1, 2022, setting it at 28,600 drams, up from the current 26,500 drams. As a result, the pensions of approximately 15,600 citizens receiving work pensions will rise.

The amounts of military pensions for conscripts with disabilities will also increase:

  • For Group 1: 43,000 drams (currently set at 40,000 drams)
  • For Group 2: 33,000 drams (up from 30,000 drams)
  • For Group 3: 30,000 drams (up from 27,000 drams)

In case of the loss of a breadwinner from the family of a deceased soldier, the military pension amount will be set at 30,000 drams, replacing the current 27,000 drams.

As a result of the increase in military pensions, the pensions of around 5,260 military pensioners will rise.

Starting January 1, 2022, it is also planned to increase the amounts for old-age, disability, and survivor benefits to 28,600 drams (currently at 26,500 drams). As a result of the expected changes, around 74,600 beneficiaries will see an increase in their benefits.

Among these changes, the amount of disability benefits for approximately 8,500 children with disabilities from childhood will be set at 37,000 drams (currently at 26,500 drams).
