The Rule of Fighting Fools Brought True Catastrophe upon Our People and Our Two Republics: Serzh Sargsyan
Two years ago, we gathered here to discuss the future actions of the party and the ways to combat the virus of populism that has afflicted the country. This was stated today, October 1, by the third President of Armenia and leader of the Republican Party, Serzh Sargsyan, during the conference titled 'Republicans, Continuous Reforms.'
'If we managed to maintain the position of the Republican Party as an important actor in shaping Armenia's political agenda and consistently defending national interests, unfortunately, all our warnings and efforts to save the country from impending disaster did not yield serious results, and the rule of fighting fools has brought true catastrophe upon our people and our two republics,' he said.
According to Serzh Sargsyan, the snap parliamentary elections organized by the capitulating authorities in June did not resolve any issues or crises—from security to value systems, from political to justice crises—despite our warnings. 'Although the Republican Party restored its parliamentary status with the trust of part of the population, in defiance of the acting regime, which committed numerous illegal actions during the entire electoral campaign and in advance, representation in the National Assembly has never been a priority for us. Therefore, we will be ready to continue the fight at any given opportunity, including, if necessary, exclusively outside the Parliament,' emphasized the president of the Republican Party.
