Fatal Incident in Front of Gyumri’s School No. 24

On September 30, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Shirak province. Around 8:00 PM, Ara Vardanyan, while driving a Ford Transit, struck an 88-year-old pedestrian, Hakob Sahakyan, in front of School No. 24 in Gyumri.

According to shamshyan.com, the injured man was rushed to the Gyumri Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries without regaining consciousness.

The incident was reported by Samvel Tadevosyan, the duty officer at the 1-77 operational management center of the traffic police, to the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee. An investigative group, led by senior investigator Virab Safaryan for particularly important cases, arrived at the scene, and a criminal case was initiated based on the second part of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code.

By the investigator's order, the vehicle has been transferred to the designated storage area of the Mush Police Department.
