Talking to Your Neighbor Doesn't Prevent You from Strengthening Your Army. Arm Yourself, Who's Holding Your Hands? Edmond Marukyan
During a conversation with journalists at the "Erebuni" pantheon, the leader of the LHK, Edmond Marukyan, commented on the peace declarations made by the Armenian authorities, stating that there are two options: either declare war on neighboring countries or speak about your desire for peace and not be an initiator of war.
“The Azerbaijani side continues to insist that we initiated the war on September 27, thus it is important for the Armenian side to speak about peace. They say, 'We want peace, are you ready or not?' These countries show that they are not ready by putting forward various preconditions,” said Edmond Marukyan.
He noted that although there was genocide in 1915, there were Armenian-Turkish relations in 1918, and they had an ambassador from Turkey. According to Edmond Marukyan, these should not be mixed together. It is one thing to talk to neighbors and another to strengthen the security of the country.
“Talking to your neighbor doesn't prevent you from strengthening your army. Strengthen your army, arm yourself, who's holding your hands, restore your economy, do your engineering work. What does it matter who you are talking to?” said Edmond Marukyan.
