Israeli Citizen Arrested on Suspicion of Murdering 55-Year-Old Man in Yerevan: New Details

On September 26, 2021, at 00:13, a report was received from a citizen stating that her husband, born in 1965, had fought with a neighbor while intoxicated, left the house at 11:00, and had not returned.

The Investigative Committee reports that as a result of investigative actions and operational-search measures, it was established that on the same day, at approximately 00:10, during a dispute in one of the apartments on Sisakyan Street in Yerevan, the alleged perpetrator struck the mentioned man in the neck and head areas with a kitchen knife, deliberately and unlawfully depriving him of his life.

The identity of the alleged perpetrator has been identified as an Israeli citizen of Armenian descent. The examination of the crime scene revealed the body of the 55-year-old man, with knife wounds and traces of blood found on the left side of his neck.

A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan under part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The Israeli citizen has been arrested on suspicion of murdering the 55-year-old man. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
