Turkish President Praises Putin Regarding Nagorno-Karabakh
The Turkish presidential administration has struggled to organize a meeting between Erdoğan and Biden, slightly altering the tone of Erdoğan's remarks towards Russia. The Turkish president has emphasized the role of Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Nagorno-Karabakh war.
In a written interview conveyed to Turkish media, numerous praises have been directed towards Russia. According to NTV Haber, President Erdoğan specifically commended Putin concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stating that the Russian president made decisions as a true statesman during the war and made the right choices.
Erdoğan also pointed out that it is easy to connect with the Russian president when necessary and discuss important issues, asserting that he has never noticed any erroneous actions from Russia toward Turkey. Speaking about the five or six-platform dialogue, Erdoğan noted that positive signals are being received from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on this matter.
“With these positive signals, we will take clear steps. In other words, I hope that we will have the opportunity to create peace in the region,” said the Turkish president. Erdoğan also added that he hopes for a stronger and different phase in Turkey-Russia relations.
