Positive that Azerbaijan Returned Kasakh Residents After One and a Half Days: Vice President of the National Assembly

Yes, unfortunately, during this time we have witnessed numerous destructive words and actions that make us think that opening an era of peaceful development is unrealistic. This was stated by the Vice President of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, in an interview with Armenpress, in response to a question about opening an era of peace and the recent incident involving two residents of Kasakh near Vorotan.

“But I think we should have strong nerves and patiently advance our agenda based on our national interests. In this context, perhaps we should also try to give significance to small positive steps. Just like the incident you mentioned. It is a negative fact that our confused citizens were detained by representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces or law enforcement agencies. But it was positive that, practically a day and a half later, Azerbaijan returned them, and according to their own statements, they did not encounter any mistreatment during their time in Azerbaijan. We hope that with similar continuous steps, an opportunity will be created to move forward with the peace agenda,” said Rubinyan.
