Georgian Prime Minister Meets with Leaders of Austria, Turkey, and Moldova

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, currently on an official visit to the United States, has held several meetings with the leaders of various countries and participated in parallel events occurring within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, according to Armenian News Agency, Armenpress.

As reported by the press service of the government administration, during the General Assembly in New York, Garibashvili met with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. The meeting highlighted that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and both leaders welcomed the active development of relations between their states, both bilaterally and multilaterally. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Austrian Chancellor for their support and invited him to Georgia.

Following the meeting, the Georgian Prime Minister participated in a high-level dialogue on Afghanistan, organized by the Austrian Prime Minister.

Within the framework of the UN General Assembly, Garibashvili also had a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting took place in both one-on-one and expanded formats. They discussed events occurring in the region. Garibashvili emphasized President Erdoğan's special efforts towards further deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting also focused on the trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, within which a wide range of issues are discussed. Furthermore, the Georgian Prime Minister, along with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, attended an event organized by Polish President Andrzej Duda, held in a working lunch format.

The Georgian delegation, headed by the Prime Minister, traveled to New York on Monday, September 20. As part of the visit, a speech by the Georgian state leader is planned at the General Assembly session on September 24.
