CSTO to Conduct Exercises in Armenia: Start Date Revealed

From September 24 to 28, Armenia will host the "Vorot-2021" exercises, involving special services dealing with counteraction to illegal drug trafficking within the framework of the CSTO operational response collective forces. The exercises are part of the plan for joint exercises of the command and control bodies and forces and resources of the CSTO collective security system for the year 2021.

In the first phase of the exercises, special forces units and the Armed Forces of Armenia will perform tasks in a mountainous terrain. Command-staff exercises will also take place with the aim of developing and implementing special operations.

During the tasks, the special forces of CSTO member states, along with units of the Armenian Armed Forces and border troops, will enhance cooperation, gaining additional experience and skills for conducting special operations under conditions closely resembling combat situations.

In the second phase of the exercises, tactical shooting competitions with combat weapons will be held, and practical actions of joint operational-combat groups of special forces will be conducted during the solution of assigned tasks.
