Andranik Kocharyan: Claims That Azerbaijanis Advanced in Berd with 5 Vehicles Are False

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly, Andranik Kocharyan, has labeled as false the reports that Azerbaijanis blocked the main road of the Berd community in Tavush for half an hour.

Kocharyan stated that he personally verified the issue with the Chief of General Staff and denied the information that two military trucks and three Jeep vehicles had parked on the Berd road, disrupting traffic on the interstate road.

“Your colleagues were spreading well-prepared disinformation. I asked for 10 minutes. I spoke with the Chief of General Staff; it is not true. If such a thing had occurred, there would have been official information. It is complete disinformation. This is within the framework of a topic that seeks to create a hotbed of tension—there isn’t any in Syunik, so they come to Tavush,” he said.

Kocharyan emphasized that regarding matters related to the country's security, he would prefer that there be no disinformation since there are soldiers serving there, and their relatives are kept in tension.
