We No Longer Pay Attention to the Gunshots: Geghamasar Consolidated Community Has Been Absolutely Neglected by the State, Says Avetyan
The consolidated community of Geghamasar in the Gegharkunik region is absolutely neglected by the state. "Since yesterday, we have been waiting for the governor, but he has not yet arrived to hear our problems. We are waiting and waiting," said the community leader, Hakob Avetyan, in an interview with Aysor.am.
He also announced that he plans to speak in the National Assembly tomorrow against the consolidation of communities, as he has been invited to a discussion on the topic.
Referring to the recent gunfire from the adversary in the community of Kut, Avetyan noted that Azerbaijanis continue to shoot, albeit not intensively, with only sporadic gunfire being heard at times. "These have become a regular occurrence; we no longer pay that much attention," said the head of the Geghamasar community.
It is worth noting that days ago, community residents closed the Vardenis-Sotk highway. They are categorically opposed to the community consolidation program, insisting that security issues are paramount and that consolidation will create additional problems. "Let them come in the evenings, see that the lights of the Turks are lit on the mountains, and not engage in the unification of communities. First, they should address the situation and security in Armenia," said participants of the protest action.
