‘If I have gone back and forth, then it was normal’: Defense Minister on Goris-Kapan road
The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Arshak Karapetyan, is confident that the state and the people will be able to overcome the situation created after the war. Karapetyan stated this during a conversation with journalists at the presidential office.
“We will have the dreamed homeland for which we have fought, but we still have a lot to do. We must overcome the difficulties and move forward with work,” said Karapetyan.
Journalists asked what prerequisites the minister sees for building the dreamed homeland, noting that due to security concerns, citizens are forced to consider the situation when traveling to Syunik. In response, Karapetyan stated that he does not see an issue related to traveling to Syunik.
"I have also traveled the Goris-Kapan road; it was normal. If I have gone back and forth, then it was normal," said Karapetyan.
The minister denied rumors suggesting that by constructing an alternative road connecting to Syunik, the existing road must be abandoned. He assured that there is no such issue.
Karapetyan declined to answer further questions related to security.
