Putin Discusses Parliamentary Elections Held in the Country

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a positive assessment of the results achieved by the ruling party "United Russia" in the parliamentary elections held from September 17-19. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov.

"Positive... The party had a task to establish its primacy, and that task has undoubtedly been fulfilled," Peskov stated, responding to reporters' questions about how the president evaluated the party's results, according to Life.ru.

It is noteworthy that after processing 98 percent of the ballots, the Central Election Commission reported that the ruling party "United Russia" retains its leading position in the State Duma elections with 49.80 percent of the votes.
