Kosh Penitentiary Institution on the Verge of Closure

The Kosh Penitentiary Institution is on the verge of closure due to a low number of inmates. In an interview with NEWS.am, the mayor of Kosh village in Aragatsotn region, Ashot Yengibaryan, stated that about 100 residents of the village work at this facility.

“I have no official information about the closure, and I have not heard anything from anyone. However, unofficially, it is said that the penitentiary will close due to the low number of inmates; they say they want to turn it into a military base,” said Yengibaryan.
