Gunfire Reported in Kut Village of Gegharkunik Province Two Days Ago
Gunfire was reported in Kut village of Gegharkunik province two days ago. This information was shared with NEWS.am by Hakob Avetyan, the head of the Geghamasar consolidated community.
“The gunfire has been so frequent that we no longer even record it. There were shots fired, but they were few. No damage was reported as a result of the gunfire. It lasted about half an hour. The shots came from weapons of various calibers,” he stated.
When asked whether the Gegharkunik regional governor had visited Geghamasar, Avetyan noted, “Not yet. The governor hasn’t come to the community yet, but I hear he may visit tomorrow. I am waiting for his call. If he doesn’t come, we will definitely take measures. If they are not prepared to act, it suggests they are just prolonging the time to do as they wish.”
It is noteworthy that a few days ago, residents of Geghamasar had blocked the Sotk-Vardenis highway. They protested against the decision regarding community consolidation. The residents only reopened the road on the condition that their raised issues would be addressed.
