Tragic Car Accident in Kotayk Province: 31-Year-Old Policeman Crashes Toyota into ZIL

Today, on September 17, a serious and tragic car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 05:40, on the 32 km stretch of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in the administrative area of Charentsavan, a collision took place between a Toyota Alphard driven by 31-year-old Sevak Hayrumyan from Sevan and a ZIL driven by 38-year-old Gagik Khachatryan from Gegharkunik Province.

According to reports from the scene provided by shamshyan.com, the driver of the Toyota, S. Hayrumyan, died on site, while a passenger, 24-year-old Narek Matevosyan from Sevan, was taken to the Charentsavan Medical Center with injuries.

Emergency situations services quickly arrived at the scene, specifically the 44th fire-rescue squad, with one firefighting unit. Rescuers extricated the deceased from the vehicle and prepared him for transfer to the medical center's transport vehicle that had arrived promptly.
