Divisions within the CP Party Faction: Who Are the Leaders and Those Isolated
The newspaper "Zhroghovurd" writes: "Within the National Assembly's 'Civil Contract' faction, the deputies have divided into several wings. According to information from 'Zhroghovurd,' there are even individuals who are on a 'black list.' The leader of the faction, Hayk Konjoryan, does not play a significant role internally; he is merely a figure that the faction, to put it mildly, does not adhere to.
Similarly, the faction's secretary, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, does not employ forceful methods like the former faction secretary Hakob Simidyans and does not even organize votes. Of course, on a larger scale, everyone implements directives coming from the executive branch, but in local matters, the leaders of the groups take action. We learned that Andranik Kocharyan and Khachatur Sukiasyan have their own groups. There’s a group that submits to Maria Karapetyan, another under the control of the NA President Alen Simonyan, and there are individuals discussing various issues with Hrachya Hakobyan. This means that the faction, composed of 72 members, has divided into 'parts.'
Moreover, the former Head of the Government Staff, Arsen Torosyan, is on the 'black list.' Almost everyone in the team had issues with Torosyan when he was a minister or head of the Prime Minister's staff. In the National Assembly, there seems to be an independent direction led by the former head of the Government Staff, Eduard Aghajanyan, who is also not accepted by the team due to similar behavior as Torosyan. The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, is isolated from the team and still feels like a minister, looking down upon the majority from above.”
