Tear Gas Released at School in Makhachkala, 19 Hospitalized

A gas release at a school in Makhachkala, Russia, has resulted in 19 people being hospitalized. Three students are currently in intensive care, according to reports from Meduza.

During a break, two ninth-grade students released tear gas from a "Cheremukha" canister within the school premises. Among those affected are students from the second, fifth, ninth, and tenth grades, as well as a teacher.

Three students require intensive therapy due to oxygen needs. The teens who discharged the gas have been taken into police custody for further investigation.
