Argishti Kyaramyan Seeks to Appoint Close Friend as Deputy in Investigative Committee

Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, is attempting to appoint his friend to the position of his deputy. This was reported by Pastinfo.

As previously reported, back in May 2020, when Argishti Kyaramyan had just been appointed as the new deputy director of the National Security Service (NSS), he decided to fill the investigative department with his own people. He appointed Arthur Poghosyan, the deputy prosecutor of Shirak province, as the head of the NSS investigative department, with whom he had previously worked at the Shirak province prosecutor's office. It should be noted that Poghosyan began his professional career in the Lori prosecutor's office and is considered to be a product of the former authorities, known for his unconditional compliance with orders from superiors.

According to information available to the site, Argishti Kyaramyan is now seeking to transfer his loyal friend to the Investigative Committee as his deputy and is actively lobbying for Arthur Poghosyan's appointment to this position. So far, they have not been able to present Poghosyan's candidacy to the Prime Minister, but Kyaramyan refuses to back down.

The position of the deputy chairman of the Investigative Committee has remained vacant since Kyaramyan took over as chairman.
