VIDEO. Concerns Arise That New Route Connecting Armenia to Artsakh May Bypass Several Villages, Abrahamyan to Pashinyan

Given Azerbaijan's ambitions, there are concerns that the new route will bypass not only the city of Berdzor, the villages of Sus and Aghavno, but also the villages of Hin Shen, Mets Shen, Yeghzahogh, Lusavor, and Kanch Tal. Can you provide a clear guarantee that no route will be established connecting Armenia to Artsakh under which the mentioned villages will automatically come under Azerbaijani control, even in the status of enclaves?

In response, Nikol Pashinyan stated, "Currently, there are no negotiations on this topic with the participation of representatives of the Armenian government. I know that working discussions have taken place involving representatives of the Artsakh authorities and peacekeeping forces. Our specialists will join from 'X' point and a concrete proposal will be formulated, which will be discussed. Naturally, during these discussions, everything will be done to ensure that the interests of the people of Artsakh and Armenia are maximally protected in this context."

Responding to Nikol Pashinyan, Tigran Abrahamyan asked, "Is it a fundamental or priority issue for you to ensure that no route exists under which the mentioned villages will find themselves under Azerbaijani control, in any conditions, with any status?"

In response to the question, Nikol Pashinyan noted, "The authorities of Artsakh and Armenia will do everything to ensure that the mentioned scenario does not occur. As for the villages in Nagorno-Karabakh, that is a priority issue that needs to be addressed."
