Video: Approximately 200 people from the First Nagorno-Karabakh War are still unaccounted for, says Pashinyan
As a result of the war, there are 243 individuals whose whereabouts are unknown, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a session in the National Assembly. He also noted that approximately 200 people from the First Nagorno-Karabakh War are still unaccounted for.
“Practically no Armenian representative attends any international meeting without the theme of prisoners and missing persons being at the forefront,” Pashinyan said. He emphasized that until all the prisoners have been returned, the ongoing efforts cannot be considered satisfactory.
Elinar Vardanyan, a member of the “Armenia” faction, responded by stating that she is referring to those who have been captured and subjected to enforced disappearance. “I am talking about today’s problem, and you are telling me that there were about 200 missing from the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. It is very unfortunate that this occurred. But I am speaking about what you, your government, are responsible for. The process we are trying to undertake to bring them back cannot be satisfactory,” Vardanyan said.
