Gunfire in Ararat Province, Right Under the Nose of the Artashat Police Department
According to Samshyan.com, for several days now, under the leadership of Grisha Amirxanyan, the head of the Ararat regional police, police officers in the region are conducting extensive activities. Under the guise of preventive conversations, they are inviting farmers who have held protests regarding grape procurement in Ararat province in recent weeks to the territorial police departments, advising some and threatening others not to hold protests or block roads. While they are disturbing farmers who are fighting for their rights under the leadership of the regional police chief, gunfire is heard once again in Ararat province.
Yesterday, on September 14th, around 10:00 PM, a dispute occurred near building 74 on Isakov Street in Artashat city, right in front of the "Angelina" flower shop, under the nose of the Ararat regional police department and the Artashat police department. During this incident, a 47-year-old resident of Ararat province, Sergey T., fired shots with his firearm at a 45-year-old resident of Ararat province, Karen A.
Residents who reported the incident stated that Sergey T. fired more than six shots, but they did not know whether Karen A. had been injured or not. "The police arrived only after some time following the gunfire, and later we learned that Sergey T. had been apprehended, but he was released afterwards."
