According to the Law on Territorial Division, Beyond Shurnukh is Azerbaijan: Prime Minister

Azerbaijan has been declaring since the 2000s that it is prepared to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue through military means. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during a question-and-answer session in the National Assembly.

According to him, after the formation of the investigative committee, it will be clear that they did not know the time and place of the war. Addressing opposition MP Gegham Manukyan, the Prime Minister called on him to discuss the contradictions among the opposition as well.

“You say, why didn’t you stop the war earlier, knowing that stopping the war meant giving up the territories you mentioned. Now where did we do right and where did we go wrong?” he stated.

Pashinyan mentioned that he personally went to the Syunik province and set the task to form self-defense units for Syunik.

“Where does it say that 90 percent of that 10 kilometers couldn’t be defended by those before us? We must defend that last part,” he said.

He noted that when Armenia negotiated for ten years and more, it was clearly recorded that the regions of Zangelan, Qubadli, and others should be returned to Azerbaijan.

He again quoted the “Law on Territorial Division,” according to which, according to the Prime Minister, beyond the administrative territory of Shurnukh is Azerbaijan.

“What is difficult in what I said that cannot be understood?” he concluded.
