Who is Installing Posters Featuring Putin and Themes of Armenian-Russian Friendship: ArmDaily
Posters featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin, and the Armenian government with the slogans “Forever Together” and “Forever with Russia” have been placed in various cities across the Republic. Some of the posters display the name of the Armenian Communist Party.
The party's office informed ArmDaily.am that they will issue a statement regarding the posters. They conveyed that the party has only installed posters depicting Marshal Baghramyan, Stepan Shahumyan, and themes of Armenian-Russian friendship. “The Armenian Communist Party did not install the poster featuring the image of the Russian President,” they stated.
When asked whether these installations were part of a local self-government pre-election campaign, considering that the Communist Party has been nominated in both Gyumri and Goris, they responded that no, the installation began before the campaign to bolster the party’s membership, encouraging people to come, inquire, and join the ranks of the party.
A poster featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin has also been placed in Goris. Goris Deputy Mayor Karen Kocharyan told ArmDaily.am that the Goris municipality has allocated space for rental. “There are two groups, one in Kapan and the other in Goris. They are renting and paying fees for the installed posters, but we do not know who placed the order; it is not under our oversight,” he said. Regarding the possibility that this could be a government or state initiative, he replied that he cannot say. “It is an order; I don’t know who the client is.”
