Charges Filed Against the Deputy Head of the Central Administrative District
The investigation into a criminal case regarding an incident within the Central Administrative District's staff has concluded at the Heavy Crimes Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. This information was provided by the Public Relations Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
It has been determined during the investigation that on May 11, 2021, around 10:00 AM, the deputy head of the Central Administrative District, acting in the capacity of the district head and endowed with organizational and administrative powers, entered the office of the head of the urban planning and land use division together with the chief specialist of the municipal division and approximately 10 other employees. They applied violence against the latter and subsequently demanded that he write a resignation letter from his position. After receiving a negative response, the deputy head and those who accompanied him physically assaulted the victim, inflicting bodily injuries.
Based on the accumulated evidence, charges have been brought against the deputy head of the administrative district under part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the criminal case, with a request for confirmation of the accusatory conclusion and submission to the court, has been sent to the prosecutorial authority overseeing the proceedings.
