This Retreating Behavior Indicates a Constant Willingness to Concede: Vardanyan on Not Using the Term 'Artsakh'
In the National Assembly, deputy of the "Armenia" faction, Agvan Vardanyan, while presenting a draft to create a commission on the issue of Artsakh, stated: "If we are not courageous enough to use the term Republic of Artsakh in our legislation at this moment, then this retreating behavior indicates weakness and a constant willingness to concede."
The deputy believes that as a parliamentary country, we are obliged to set more ambitious goals before us and emphasize all aspects related to the Artsakh issue. "I urge the government deputies to discuss this topic once again. If you truly want constructive work, if you want to take on the responsibility of the political majority of a sovereign state, these issues will not be resolved by abstaining from voting. I propose a more serious and responsible approach to the issue," highlighted Agvan Vardanyan.
Chairman of the NA Legal Committee Vladimir Vardanyan stated that there are other formats and tools for discussions related to Artsakh that are focused on the future and are crafted accordingly. According to Vladimir Vardanyan, the presented draft did not resolve any practical issues and was more directed towards the past than the future.
