Some Positive Messages Are Coming From Armenia, But They Should Not Only Be Words: Cavusoglu

During a meeting at the governor's office in Eskişehir with various public organizations, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu addressed several topics, including Armenian-Azerbaijani issues, as reported by Armenpress.

Noting that hard power is employed when a diplomatic solution cannot be found, Çavuşoğlu cited Turkey's actions in Syria, Libya, and the Eastern Mediterranean, also referencing Azerbaijan and simultaneously accusing Armenia of having territorial aspirations towards neighboring countries.

Continuing with examples, he discussed Azerbaijan's steps in the Caucasus. "Azerbaijan waited for 30 years; there was no diplomatic solution. The Minsk Trio or the Minsk Group, of which we are also a member, did not operate. What happened? In a short time, within 43 days, our brother Azerbaijan regained its lands, and now there is an opportunity for diplomacy," he stated.

Çavuşoğlu emphasized the need for positive messages exchanged between Armenia and Turkey to be translated into actions: "We are giving positive messages, and some positive messages are coming from Armenia, but these positive messages should not only be words," he added.

Continuing his remarks, the Turkish Foreign Minister accused Armenia of having designs on the territories of neighboring countries. "If Armenia learns lessons from what has happened, it must understand that it will achieve nothing by invading the land of a neighboring country or by coveting the land of its neighbors," stated the Turkish Foreign Minister.

He also spoke about the peace agreement proposed by Azerbaijan. "Azerbaijan has also suggested negotiating a comprehensive peace agreement. The elections are over, the government has been formed, and I hope Armenia will respond positively as well," he concluded.
