Azerbaijan Confirms Reports of Tax Collection from Iranian Drivers in Syunik
Azerbaijan has confirmed reports of tax collection from Iranian drivers in Syunik. Media outlets had previously reported that Azerbaijani border guards were collecting taxes from drivers of Iranian cargo vehicles entering Armenia, forcing them to pass through the section of the Goris-Kapan road controlled by Azerbaijan.
Today, on September 13, the Azerbaijan Customs Committee issued a statement indicating that, according to Article 210 of the Tax Code, foreign transport vehicles entering or exiting the country are considered taxable. It was noted that the customs authorities are currently ensuring the implementation of these provisions throughout the country.
