Baku Outraged by Statement of U.S. Ambassador in Armenia: Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Response
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responded to the statement made by U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy, noting that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is "in the past."
"The U.S. ambassador's statement is unacceptable. The conflict is in the past; Azerbaijan has ensured its territorial integrity, and by a decree from the Azerbaijani president dated July 7, 2021, the economic regions of Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh have been established. These territories are an integral part of Azerbaijan, and there can be no talk of any status," said Leyla Abdullayeva, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, commenting on the words of the U.S. ambassador in Armenia.
It is noteworthy that U.S. Ambassador Lynn Tracy had previously stated, "Secretary Blinken has articulated our commitment on several occasions. And, of course, the situation of 30 years of war and tension cannot be resolved overnight, but there are substantive matters that we value, and as I mentioned, we do not consider the status of Nagorno-Karabakh to be resolved, and it will remain on the agenda of the Minsk Group."
