Turks Will Paralyze Our Market If We Open the Borders, Says Farmer

Turks Will Paralyze Our Market If We Open the Borders, Says Farmer

“They say that some Arabs have bought hundreds of hectares of land in Karbi and Ohanavan villages, where the conditions for growing apples and pears are ideal, and have left it uncultivated,” said businessman and farmer Harutyun Mnatsakanyan during a broadcast on 24TV.

“I have calculated that for only $200 million, the Turks can paralyze the entire potential of our agriculture. If necessary, they will make that investment; it is a trivial amount for Turkey or Azerbaijan,” noted the farmer.

According to the speaker, without the Russian market today, our agricultural sector wouldn’t survive. “Imagine if Lars suddenly closes for some time. That’s it, the whole sector would be paralyzed. When the roads and railways open with Turkey and Azerbaijan, including logistical ties, we need to say goodbye to the existing conditions of Armenia's agriculture,” said Mnatsakanyan.

The speaker also addressed other intriguing issues related to the sector and the topic. More details can be found on the original source website.
