Formation of the Commission Does Not Bring Closer Favorable Solutions for Artsakh Issue: Vardanyan

During a special session of the Permanent Commission on State and Legal Issues of the National Assembly, the establishment of a "Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Artsakh Issues" proposed by opposition factions was discussed.

"We must note that all commissions of the National Assembly have been perceived as bodies addressing the Artsakh issue since 1991. While reaffirming our commitment to Artsakh and a favorable resolution to the Artsakh issue, we must still find solutions that are effective and beneficial for the protection of the rights of the Artsakh people," said Vladimir Vardanyan, a member of the My Step Alliance.

He stated that in his opinion, the proposed project does not bring any closer favorable solutions to the Artsakh issue. "It does not worsen the situation, it changes nothing. Your project, besides domestic consumption, does not resolve any issue," Vardanyan said.

In response to Vladimir Vardanyan, lawmaker Aghvan Vardanyan of the Armenia Alliance stated that this project is aimed at the future. "This project proposed by the Armenia Alliance is entirely directed towards strengthening our statehood," Vardanyan said.
