Discussion on the Bail Measures for Arush Arushanyan
The trial of Arush Arushanyan, the head of the Goris community, is ongoing at the Goris base of the Syunik region’s court of general jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Gnel Gasparyan. The discussion revolves around the issue of bail measures.
The defense has submitted a motion to replace the arrest with a bail, proposing a minimum threshold of 20 million drams. The accused, Arushanyan, did not appear in court. His lawyers read out his electronic application, stating that Arushanyan is unwell and finds it difficult to travel the Goris-Yerevan road.
The Mayor of Goris is accused of preparing, organizing, and assisting in the violation of the secrecy of voting, as well as abusing his official position to obstruct the exercise of electoral rights and to organize or assist in such obstruction.
