Court Rejects Request to Arrest Principal of School No. 122
The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Anna Matevosyan, has rejected the investigator's request to arrest Marina Malakhyan, the former principal of School No. 122 in Yerevan. This was reported by her lawyer, Liparit Simonyan, on his Facebook page.
Simonyan's appeal was also granted by the court, which deemed the decision to arrest the school principal unlawful. As a result, she has been released promptly.
It should be noted that one of the school's teachers had provided the media with a recording involving an alleged bribery scheme between her and the principal. The recording indicated that the teacher was hired after paying $1,500, and subsequently, a portion of her salary was regularly given to the principal.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding bribery, as well as for giving, receiving, and mediating bribes. Additionally, Education Minister Vahram has signed an order to suspend the principal's certification.
