A Decision Will Be Made on the Further Deployment of Russian Peacekeeping Forces: Muradov
Rustam Muradov, the former commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, has positively assessed the work of the Russian peacekeepers, as reported by TASS. Muradov mentioned that life in Nagorno-Karabakh is currently proceeding in its normal course, with ongoing resolutions to various issues.
“I assess the activities of the Russian peacekeeping mission only positively. The peaceful population provides us with feedback. Today, life in Karabakh is going on at full pace. Of course, there are many complex questions, but the process continues—people are returning, and several problematic issues are being resolved. Therefore, I believe that everything will be normal,” stated the lieutenant general.
Muradov emphasized that the Russian peacekeepers will remain in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh for five years, as stipulated by the statement signed by the leaders of three countries. “A decision will later be made on the further deployment of the Russian peacekeeping contingent,” he told the TASS agency.
Rustam Muradov has completed his mission as the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh. Major General Mikhail Kobsonokov has been appointed as the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping mission in the region.
