Who is the newly appointed commander of peacekeeping forces? The Minister of Defense has received him

On September 9, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Arshak Karapetyan, received the newly appointed commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, Major General Mikhail Kosobokov, and the commander of the Russian 102nd Military Base in Armenia, Colonel Dmitry Ovcharov. The meeting was also attended by Colonel Igor Shcherbakov, the defense attaché of the Russian Embassy in Armenia.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister congratulated Major General Mikhail Kosobokov on taking up his position and wished him success during the peacekeeping mission. Arshak Karapetyan also congratulated Colonel Dmitry Ovcharov on his appointment as the commander of the Russian 102nd Military Base and emphasized the role and significance of the Russian units stationed in Armenia.

The defense minister highly appreciated the efforts of the Russian Federation aimed at stabilizing the geopolitical situation in the region, as well as the progress and effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.

During the meeting, opinions were also exchanged regarding regional security issues.
