MP Joins Flashmob Demanding Cancellation of September 21 Event
Member of the National Assembly from the "I Have Honor" faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, has announced on his Facebook page that he is joining the flashmob initiated by the parents and relatives of fallen heroes, demanding the cancellation of the September 21 event.
"I also join the pleas of the relatives of our compatriots who fell, went missing, or were taken captive as a result of the devastating 2020 war, demanding the authorities to cancel the planned 'colorful celebration'. Even if small, symbolic events are planned, they should be kept as modest as possible, without excesses, extravagances, and concert segments," he stated.
It is noteworthy that the parents and relatives of the heroes who fell during the 44-day war expressed their outrage at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement of a 'colorful event' to be held at Republic Square on September 21, and have launched a flashmob on social media calling for the cancellation of the event.
Specifically, Astghik Galeyan, mother of posthumously awarded hero Mkhitar Galeyan, wrote on her Facebook page, "I, the mother of hero Dukhavik Mkhitar, condemn the colorful event on September 21 and demand its cancellation..."
Manushak Mane Stepanyan, mother of hero Albert Stepanyan, wrote: "I, the aunt of hero ALBERT STEPANYAN and teacher of my heroic students, condemn the 'colorful' event on September 21 and demand the cancellation of such a designation, and call for an appropriate event suitable for the situation. Since 09.11.20, a requiem should have resonated throughout our republic, for, one beautiful dawn, you wake up and bear witness to the massacre of the Armenian generation; this is our shame and lament. We have buried the boys of the 90s again and surrendered them to the soil for this generation, for which that generation sacrificed itself. Let us carry everything with honor..."
