Attempt to Smuggle 58.85 Grams of Drugs at Hrazdan Penitentiary

On September 9, 2021, around 5:40 AM, a staff member of the Hrazdan penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia noticed suspicious movement around the main wall of the facility. This information has been reported by the Penitentiary Service.

Immediately, a search of the area was conducted, and from the aforementioned section, a package and two ropes were found. With these tools, the inmates attempted to pull the package into their cell.

Upon inspecting the package, two mobile phones and a substance resembling marijuana, weighing a total of 58.85 grams and divided into five separate packages, were discovered. Documentation is being prepared regarding the incident, and a forensic chemical examination has been ordered.
