Fatal Accident in Masis: Investigative Committee Provides Details

On September 6, 2021, around 6:10 PM, a collision occurred on the Masis-Noramarq highway in the city of Masis. The vehicles involved were an 'Opel Astra' driven by a 35-year-old resident of Hrazdan and a 'Mercedes-Benz' driven by a 79-year-old resident of Masis.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the 'Mercedes-Benz' and two passengers were taken to the medical center with bodily injuries; however, the driver passed away en route. This was reported by the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Masis investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department under part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code. An on-site inspection has been conducted, the driver of the 'Opel Astra' has been interrogated, and forensic medical examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
