Emergency Incident in Lori Region: Mercedes Collides with Freight Electric Train, Injuries Reported
On September 6, an emergency incident occurred in the Lori region. Around 23:20, on Manukyan Street in the city of Spitak, a freight electric train operated by 55-year-old Albert Martirosyan, a resident of Shirak, collided with a Mercedes vehicle driven by 29-year-old Zhora Atoyan, a resident of Lori, at the railway crossing at kilometer mark 2673.
According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the collision, Z. Atoyan and his passenger, 3-year-old Gegham A., also from Lori, sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the Spitak Medical Center.
The investigation at the scene was led by Senior Investigator Petrosyan from the 5th platoon of the 2nd police regiment, who is preparing materials regarding the incident. The first to provide assistance to the injured were employees of the South Caucasian Railway Company. According to G. Shamshyan, the injured are father and son, and A. Martirosyan works as a driver at the locomotive depot in Gyumri for the South Caucasian Railway Company.
