Did Your Colleague Ishkhan Saghatelyan Call for the Murder of Thousands of Soldiers? Alekanyan to Ghazinyan

During a meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, MP Vahagn Alekanyan from the Civil Contract faction questioned the nominee for the Vice President, Arthur Ghazinyan.

"In your fiery speech, you talked about the negotiating legacy received by the Prime Minister and regarded it as a good legacy. I want to ask, what was the good legacy when Serzh Sargsyan, just two weeks before Nikol Pashinyan, announced that the negotiation table was effectively at an impasse? Was this the good legacy you envisioned, or should it have been understood that the strongest capital in negotiations is the strength of the army? Was that capital the good one? You will also see in the examination of the documents of the April inquiry commission how good that legacy was," Alekanyan stated.

Referring to Ghazinyan's stance that rejecting the ceasefire proposal on October 19 was, in fact, murder, Vahagn Alekanyan stated, "So you accuse your colleague, the allied Ishkhan Saghatelyan, of inciting murder because he, on that same day—October 19—upon learning that there was such an opportunity, goes live and declares that no conditions should be agreed upon regarding this ceasefire. In other words, did Ishkhan Saghatelyan call for the murder of thousands of soldiers, Mr. Ghazinyan? Are you now sitting next to Ishkhan Saghatelyan, believing you are among potential murderers?" Alekanyan added that a political figure must be responsible for each of their words.

It is noted that today, September 6, the agenda of the extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security has two issues: the acceptance of citizens and the election of the deputy chairman of the committee.
