Case of Official Negligence Resulting in Severe Consequences Revealed
The National Security Service’s Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption has uncovered evidence through operational-investigative measures regarding the negligence of authorized officials in a state department.
These officials, tasked with overseeing the access to a medical assistance package guaranteed by the state for primary healthcare services, displayed a negligent and careless attitude. As a result, from October 1, 2017, to September 1, 2021, 352 individuals who had qualified for the healthcare package continued to remain on the beneficiary list even after being dismissed from their positions and completing the designated six-month period.
This negligence led to the unjustified transfer of substantial insurance payments amounting to approximately 12,500,000 AMD from the Armenian state budget to insurance companies, resulting in severe material consequences.
This information has been provided by the press service of the National Security Service of Armenia.
In connection with this case, a criminal case has been initiated for official negligence resulting in severe consequences, based on materials prepared by the investigative department of the NSS, which will be sent for further investigation.
