Ancient 3rd Millennium B.C. slab tombs discovered in Vanadzor, says chief architect

Ancient slab tombs have been discovered in Vanadzor. This was announced by the chief architect of Vanadzor, Suren Abovyan, on his Facebook page, where he also shared photographs of the findings.

"On September 4 of this year, during the construction works of the 3rd phase of the modernization of Vanadzor's water supply system, slab tombs dating back to the 3rd Millennium B.C. were discovered in the area of Khndzorut Street 2. I have suspended the works in accordance with the law and have contacted the relevant state authority. Today, an archaeological team examined the site to determine the further course of the works. These small finds also confirm that Vanadzor has been inhabited for 5000 years, showcasing a high culture," he wrote.
