Clarification from the Preservation Service on the Wedding at Garni Temple

The Preservation Service has signed a contract with the relevant organization to hold an event in the territory of the Garni temple complex. This was stated in the clarification from the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports' Preservation Service regarding the wedding that took place today at the pagan temple of Garni.

There has been considerable discussion on the internet about the wedding event held today at the Garni Historical-Cultural Reserve. A low-quality video has also circulated, reportedly featuring pop music that allegedly played during the event.

The Preservation Service informs that a contract was signed with the relevant organization for holding the event within the complex's territory. The Service had previously notified the authorized body and received permission.

Regarding the pop music, it was specified that performances by the “Gata” and “Apricot” bands were played during the event. The mentioned pop music was performed from an object in the adjacent area.

The Preservation Service will provide more detailed clarifications in the near future.

Previously, it was reported that the Garni pagan temple was closed today due to the wedding taking place there.
